Whole body Cryotherapy
Nitrogen Cryotherapy
At ETERNA Santa Monica, we offer whole-body Cryo Science cryotherapy that cools from –184°F to –220°F, compared to electric chambers that only reach –150°F — that's a 70°F difference that makes all the difference. In just three minutes, the chamber triggers powerful physiological responses that reduce inflammation, speed recovery, and elevate mood and energy.
Nitrogen Cryotherapy
At ETERNA Santa Monica, we offer whole-body Cryo Science nitrogen cryotherapy at -220°F — the coldest in town. In just three minutes, the chamber triggers powerful physiological responses that reduce inflammation, speed recovery, and elevate mood and energy.
The Science
When your body is briefly exposed to extreme cold, it reacts with vasoconstriction (blood rushing to the core), followed by vasodilation (blood flooding back through tissues once you step out). This rebound effect improves circulation, oxygen delivery, and anti-inflammatory activity.
Research in the last few years has shown that cryotherapy can:
- Lower pro-inflammatory cytokines while increasing anti-inflammatory markers
- Support muscle recovery and reduce soreness
- Improve sleep quality and mood through norepinephrine release
- Stimulate brown adipose tissue, boosting calorie burn and metabolism
Benefits of Cryotherapy
- Rapid recovery for muscles and joints
- Reduction of pain and inflammation
- Energy and mood elevation
- Improved sleep and stress resilience
- Skin tightening and collagen support
Frequency Recommended
- General wellness: 2–3 times per week
- Athletic recovery: 3–5 times per week during training or competition
- Inflammation management: Daily use
Best Pairings (Stacking)
- After TrimSculpt™: Reduces soreness and inflammation from supramaximal contractions
- After Vibration Plate: Complements circulation rebound and muscle flushing
- With Compression (same or separate session): Enhances lymphatic drainage and recovery
- Contrast with Sauna: For advanced users, hot + cold contrast maximizes circulation and resilience
When to Use
- Stomach: Best on an empty or lightly fed stomach — avoid heavy meals right before
- Daytime: Great in the morning for an energy boost or post-workout for recovery
- Female cycle:
- Days 1–6 (menstruation): Best avoided, as cold constricts blood vessels and may worsen cramps or clotting
- Follicular & ovulation (days 7–14): Excellent time for strength, energy, and recovery benefits
- Luteal (days 15–28): Helpful for PMS-related fatigue, bloating, or inflammation
Who Should Not Use
- Individuals with severe cardiovascular conditions (consult a doctor first)
- Pregnant women unless approved by a healthcare provider
- People with open wounds, infections, or uncontrolled high blood pressure
Keep Stacking & Best to Use
- Combine with proper hydration and nutrition for optimal results
- Best used post-workout or after intense physical activity
- Can be paired with massage therapy, sauna, or stretching for enhanced recovery

What to Expect from Your Cryotherapy Session
Reserve your Cryotherapy session and step into a fully private, guided experience designed for both comfort and results. When you arrive, our team will escort you to your room and provide everything you need — socks, boots, gloves, wool mittens, and optional ear and face coverings. We recommend wearing undergarments for your session.
You'll have a moment to change and prepare before stepping into the chamber. Once you're ready, open the chamber, ring the doorbell, and pop in — we'll then activate your three-minute cryotherapy session and start your chosen music. The temperature drops to as low as –220°F, delivering an invigorating full-body reset that boosts energy, mood, and recovery. When your session ends, we'll let you out and leave you to dress back into your clothes. You'll leave feeling clear, recharged, and ready to take on the day.
